Terminology
Bactericide – Splish Splash One-Step Disinfectant kills bacteria, those one-cell organisms that can be found everywhere, and on any hard surface in your facility.
Cleaner – One-Step is a “first line of defense” cleaner for all hard non-porous, high touch surfaces throughout your establishment, from floor to ceiling in all public and private areas of the building. A clean facility makes a good impression on customers and boosts morale among employees. One survey found that 94% of U.S. adults said they would avoid a business in the future if they experienced a dirty restroom.
Disinfectant – It is often-forgotten that it is unlawful to display the term “disinfectant” on a product that is not EPA Registered, i.e., to carry the term disinfectant on its label, the product must meet EPA standards of testing. One-Step by Splish Splash is a hospital grade disinfectant that meets EPA standards as well as state board requirements.
Emerging Viral Pathogens (EVP) - The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases defines “emerging infectious diseases/pathogens as those “that have newly appeared in a population or have existed but are rapidly increasing in incidence or geographic range.” Also See List Q.
EPA Registered (Environmental Protection Agency) –The EPA reviews product formulas, their active and inert ingredients and verifies that the product will do what it claims. Because disinfects are intended to kill pests – specifically micro-organisms including pathogens on surfaces – disinfectants are considered pesticides and therefore must be registered with the EPA. An agency of the federal government, the EPA does not endorse or recommend any product.
EPA List-N – EPA expects products on List-N to kill all strains and variants of the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19), when used according to the label directions. Splish Splash One-Step Disinfectant appears on EPA List-N (Search Reg. No. 10324-112).
EPA List-Q – The EPA expects products on List-Q to be effective against the Monkeypox virus when they have appropriate viral claims and are used according to label directions. EPA Registration Number 10324-112, the EPA Registration Number of Splish Splash One-Step Disinfectant (10324-112-85349) is listed on EPA List-Q, also known as Disinfectants for Emerging Viral Pathogens (EVPs): List Q
Fungicide – Fungi are a group of single-celled or multi-celled organisms that live by decomposing and absorbing the organic matter in which they grow. Splish Splash One-Step Disinfectant is a fungicide that arrests the growth and kills fungi on hard surfaces.
Mildewcide – One-Step inhibits the growth of mildew and neutralizes its sometimes foul odor while the cleaning and disinfection properties of the product sanitize the hard surface.
Monkeypox – see EPA List-Q
Sanitizer (non-food contact) – Certified by the EPA for either “food contact” and “non-food contact” applications, sanitizers reduce bacteria on hard surfaces by at least 99.9%. One-Step Disinfectant by Splish Splash is a non-food contact sanitizer, e.g., it is not to be used on surfaces or implements used for food preparation.
Virucide – A virus is a microscopic agent that causes infections and can only multiply within the living cells of a host - such as a human, animal or plant. One-Step by Splish Splash is a virucide that kills viruses.
